Prof. Muraleedharan V R
Professor VR Muraleedharan, a Development Economist, with primary research interest in the field of Healthcare Economics, has been teaching at the Department of HSS, IIT Madras, since 1988.
He is currently engaged in a five-year comparative research project on health economics and financing, funded by DFID (London), as part of a Consortium of 10 institutions (from India, Kenya, Tanzania, Thailand and South Africa, http://resyst.lshtm.ac.uk) . His most recent contribution to the book “Good Health at Low Cost: what makes an effective health system?” (2012) analyses developments in the healthcare delivery system of Tamil Nadu over the past 30 years. Currently, he is engaged in piloting Universal Health Coverage in two poor blocks of Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Rakhal Gaitonde is an MD in Community Medicine. He was the project manager of the Tamilnadu state level Community Action for Health process (with SOCHARA) under the NRHM between 2010-2012. He is presently pursuing a PhD with the University of Umea, Sweden on Health Policy Implementation, focusing on the implementation of policies regarding community participation in health. He is a member of the National ASHA mentoring Group and also serves as the Chairperson of the Community Advisory Board of the National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, and is on the Editorial Advisory Board and International Patient Advisory Board of the BMJ group. His area of interests are community based accountability and governance in health systems.
At CTaP he is working on vaccine related decision making and environmental epidemiology.
Dharmesh Shah is a graduate of the LKY School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore where he completed his Masters in Public Administration (MPA). His research areas include waste management, circular economy, industrial pollution and environmental justice. He also consults with networks like Zero Waste Europe and GAIA, on international waste and climate policy.
At CTaP, he is engaged as a policy advisor to the group working on waste management, environmental health and site remediation.
Vipin has done his Masters in Thermal System Design and is currently pursuing his Ph.D from IIT Madras. Prior joining CTaP he was working with Forbes Marshall in as a designer of expander used in cogeneration. His present research interests are in field of exergy analysis of energy systems and expander technology for CHP applications.
Dhipankumar Kanakasabapathi is a masters graduate from University of Borås, Sweden where he studied Resource Recovery and Sustainable Energy Technology. He also holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore in 2010.
Prior to joinin CtaP he worked as a Research Engineer with M/s Arrya Hi-Tech Energy on optimization of process design, construction, operation & maintenance of biomass gasifier on power generation projects and various thermal energy projects along with techno-economic assessment studies of biomass based energy generation projects and roof top solar PV projects focusing on educational institutions.
At CTaP he is working on thermal based renewable energy, biomass & bioenergy (combustion, pyrolysis & gasification), energy systems analysis, industrial symbiosis, life cycle assessment & sustainable development.
Devi holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) Degree in Communication Systems and had wide range of experience as Teaching faculty and Technical editor of engineering books. Prior to CTaP she was working in the field of Curating and testing at Mylspot which develops and promotes intelligent tutoring applications in the field of engineering.
In CTaP she is working in the research of “Technology and Engineering Education”,that aims at exploring the role of technology in improving the process of learning.
